Efter år av dopamindressing i ljust rosa och neon, startar banorna tillbaka till neutrala. Michael Kors var den senaste som antog en dämpad färgpalett för höstens 2023-show med monokromatiskt utseende i färgerna på en förfallen skog: skiffergrå, tegelröd, smaragdgrön och snövit frekventerade catwalk.
Fransklänningar, låga bälten och stora ädelstenshalsband spetsade showen med en bohemisk känsla, men stylingen genomsyrade New York-förfining. Det är en "urban bohemia", enligt programanteckningarna. Vissa halsband liknar kärnorna i ett dött träd, särskilt i samband med showens bakgrund: karga trädstammar ploppade över hela lokalen.
Stora, slarviga väskor och crossbody leder tillbehörssortimentet tillsammans med knähöga stövlar. En annan höjdpunkt: Kollektionens kappor är lika chica och lyxiga som dess pälsrockar, som vi väldigt mycket skulle kunna se någon gilla Naomi Campbell bär.
"Bridgerton"-liknande orkesterframställningar av Fleetwood Macs "Go Your Own Way" och Jefferson Airplanes "Don't You Want Somebody" To Love" spelade i en loop under showen - ett passande soundtrack för den amerikanska designern känd för att få klassikerna att kännas modern.
